What this policy covers
This policy covers anml.com and the information we collect from visitors to it.
It does not cover the websites and products we build for our clients. When we perform work for a client, that client determines what data their site collects and how it is used, and their own privacy policy applies. In that context we act as a service provider to the client, not as the party deciding how your information is used.
Information we collect
Information you give us. If you fill in our contact form or email us, we collect what you choose to send: typically your name, email address, company, and whatever you write in the message. Contact form submissions are delivered to HubSpot, the customer relationship management system we use to manage inquiries.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Vercel) and the analytics tools below record standard technical information: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, the pages you viewed, the time of your visit, and the referring page.
We use the following analytics and measurement tools:
- Google Analytics 4 to understand site traffic and usage in aggregate. See Google's privacy policy.
- Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with pages, through heatmaps and session replays. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
- HubSpot to connect site visits with inquiries submitted through our contact form. See HubSpot's privacy policy.
Cookies. The tools above set cookies to distinguish visitors and understand how the site is used. These cookies are not required for the site to function. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, and the site works without them. You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google's browser add-on.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
How we use information
We use what we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about work you have asked us about
- Operate, secure, and improve the website
- Understand which content is useful, in aggregate
- Meet our legal and contractual obligations
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We have not sold or shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the past twelve months, and we do not intend to.
We do not use the information you send us to build advertising profiles, and we do not provide it to data brokers.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers who help us operate our business, and only to the extent they need it:
- Hosting and content delivery (Vercel) for the website itself
- Analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) to understand site usage
- Email and business productivity (Google Workspace) for correspondence
- Customer relationship management (HubSpot) for contact form submissions and where an inquiry becomes a business conversation
Each of these operates under its own terms and is contractually restricted in how it may use the information.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property.
How long we keep information
We keep contact inquiries for as long as needed to respond and, where a business relationship follows, for the duration of that relationship plus the period our records and tax obligations require.
Analytics data is retained according to the settings of the analytics tools we use.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details above.
Security
We protect information through access controls limited to the people who need it, multi-factor authentication enforced across the systems we use, encryption in transit, and full-disk encryption on company devices.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
If you are in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request a copy of it, to request deletion, to request correction, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing for you to opt out of, but you may still contact us to confirm.
If you are in the EU, EEA, or UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
Everyone, wherever you are, may make these requests. We apply them regardless of where you live.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@anml.com. We will respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires, and within 45 days at the outside. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
International transfers
ANML is based in the United States, and the systems we use to operate our business are primarily located in the United States. If you contact us from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. Where required, our service providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for such transfers.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top. Material changes will be noted prominently on this page.
